Helping Teens Drive/Ride Safely

November 3, 2007, is "Teen Driving SafeD Day."

On that day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center, federal, state, local, and private organizations will set up displays and hold demonstrations to get teens and their parents involved in hands-on activities.

The theme of the day's events is: "One Day To Save The Rest Of The Days Of Your Life."

Highway safety experts will present seminars to teens and parents on the importance of safe teen driving and the crucial factor of experience in a wide variety of driving situations. In many cases, teens will be teaching teens, including the lesson that just one moment of irresponsibility behind the wheel can lead to a crash that devastates the life of the driver and possibly many others.

Admission is FREE! Parking at the Pennino and Herrity Buildings.

S.A.F.E - D is a nonprofit organization that is passionate, dedicated, and committed
to making teens and their parents aware of the consequences, effects and responsibility of driving.

This event has the support of the Fairfax County Police, Fire and Rescue
and Sheriff's Departments and many public safety agencies outside Fairfax, as well as the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Citizens Advisory Council and The Fairfax Partnership for Youth.
