- 9th graders take the ACT EXPLORE. This ACT is a nationally normed standardized test for 9th graders. GCM is covering the cost of this assessment. All 9th graders will be tested unless the parent contacts the school counselor with concerns.
- 10th graders take the College Board PSAT. FCPS covers the cost of the PSAT for sophomores. All 10th graders will be tested unless a parent contacts the school counselor with concerns.
- 11th graders take the College Board PSAT, and compete for National Merit Achievement Scholarships. Juniors must pay for this test, the cost is $17. Please send a check to Student Services to cover the cost of this standardized test. The registration form is attached to this email.
- Seniors may sign up to take a practice SAT or ACT through Mr. Humphreys in our College and Career Center. They may also choose to take the practice test the morning of the 17th at home or in our College and Career Center.
School on October 17th will begin at 8 AM, our regular start time on Wednesdays. We will modify our schedule that day.
11th graders, if you haven't already done so, you need to submit the PSAT form. It gives you info so you can learn about and register for the PSAT on Oct. 17. All Juniors are automatically scheduled to take the test unless you opt out.
