Inductees for the 6th Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony

Falls Church, Virginia – George C. Marshall High School, in conjunction with the school’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, is pleased to announce this year’s inductees:

1) Katherine Switzer, Author of Marathon Woman, Class of 1964
2) Dale Wallace, Track, Class of 1978
3) Mike Hopkins, Football, Class of 1986
4) Lonnie Goldberg, Baseball, Class of 1988
5) Billy Swarm, Football, Class of 1989
6) Andrew Barber, Dive, Class of 2000

Sponsored jointly by the GCM Athletic Boosters and the GCM Hall of Fame Committee, the Hall of Fame is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of outstanding achievements by students and adults in athletics at George C. Marshall High School. Athletes are eligible for consideration five years after completion of their high school careers while coaches are eligible for consideration five years after they retire from coaching in Fairfax County. Contributors are individuals who over many years worked as an employee of George C. Marshall High School or significantly contributed time or resources, in each case to the betterment of the GCM athletic program. Nominations may be made for individuals to be considered for future consideration by completing the nomination form found at www.gcmstatesmensports.org

The Hall of Fame Induction will take place during the 50th Anniversary Gala on Friday, November 9th 2012, at 8:00pm at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church, VA.
